In only two seasons, La Rioja Bike Race established as one of the most important MTB stage races in Europe and with most participants. Nearly 1.800 riders from 26 different nationalities have taken part in its two frist editions.
Since it was launched in 2014, La Rioja Bike Race has been part of the calendar approved by the International Cycling Union (UCI), giving more than 15.000 € in prize money, besides UCI points which in the next edition will be determinant for the 2016 Río de Janeiro Olympic Games.
The qualification for Rio 2016 will end only two weeks after the third edition of La Rioja Bike Race, hence the event might be decisive for many athletes, since it will determine the countries and number of members that will be able to take part in Rio 2016.
One of the successes of La Rioja Bike Race have been its six marathon stages. In two years, 410 kilometres have been covered, exceeding 11.000 metres of climbing along the Iregua valley and the mountain ranges of Moncalvillo and Cameros. True mountain biking routes, with a great amount of excellent singletracks, beautiful forests and fantastic landscapes within a short distance.
The participants also see themselves supported with multiple services for their comfort; physiotherapists, mechanics, guarded bike parking and washing area, vehicle parking, showers, restaurant, exhibition and paddock space, etc.
